Project Highlights

The Blue Light Living is an upscale, fully furnished apartment complex with high end amenities focused on student comfort and academic success. The 7-story building has 211 beds in mixture of two and three bedroom units. Each bedroom has its own private walk in closet and bathroom. The building features an underground parking garage as well as surface parking.

Highlights among the many amenities are a rooftop pool, spa, and lounge area, two group fitness rooms with the latest in fitness technology, 4 study lounges with study pods and private conference rooms, two indoor dog wash stations as well as a fenced in play area. Each apartment is fully furnished with the latest furniture and smart technology.

Wilmorite built the first purpose-built student housing project next to Duke University on a former gas station/service center site as part of the federal Brownfield Cleanup Program which encourages private-sector cleanup of brownfield site to revitalize the community. The brownfield program required significant removal of soils and an extensive testing and monitoring process throughout the construction of The Blue Light.

Wilmorite worked with local architects and engineers to design the building within stringent zoning in order to expedite the approval process and complete construction in the tight timeline.
