Project Highlights:
This 215,000 square foot multi-level convention center is a concrete and steel structure with exterior metal panal cladding. The project location posed a particular challenge since the site was surrounded by major streets with heavy traffic on three sides and the Genesee River on the other side. Removal and replacement of the existing river wall, which had been built in the 1800’s, plus rock removal, added to the project’s complexity, Also, this rock could be not removed by blasting due to the underground steam lines that serviced adjacent buildings.
This project was completed on time and $2M under budget.
